From Integration to Marginalization

This study analyzes changes in the representation of Chinese Indonesian or Tionghoa history textbooks Indonesia. There are two under study, each published during Guided Democracy and New Order periods. The focus this is on topic people’s resistance to colonialism. A qualitative approach used with Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) method. results show that there has been a change discourse textbooks. During period, were represented by integration as part nation which participated against era, was political direction encouraged assimilation discriminatory practices Chinese. Prejudice stereotypes people Indonesia strengthening. They marginalized removed from research contributes inclusive education through writing their lessons represent diversity for national integration.
